Shopping Walk in the Historic Center (Self Guided), Florence

If it is luxury shopping and exclusive items that you are after head to Via de Tornabuoni. Here you will find boutiques of the world’s most famous designers, bywords for beautiful clothes and fashions. Among their number are Prada, Pucci and Gucci. Also on this street is Ferragamo which features a museum that displays some of its luxury shoes from the 20th century, footwear that was popular with movie stars and royalty. Via de Tornabuoni is also a street that oozes history as well as class. Since the 14th century the wealthy elite have lived here in gorgeous palaces. Among the noble Florentine families to have called this place home are the Antinori and Strozzi.

Another great shopping destination in the neighborhood is Via del Corso for its range of small boutiques. The prices here are also more amenable to most people's budgets. But that’s not all! There is even more good shopping to be had on the Via dei Calzaiuoli which extends from the Duomo to Piazza della Signoria. This historical road with its many old and beautiful buildings is lined with stores on both sides. They include vintage shops, famous designers such as Chanel and Swarovski and places where you can purchase handcrafted items and souvenirs.
