Benito Mussolini in Rome, Rome

Benito Mussolini in Rome, Rome
Benito Mussolini had been a socialist and a pacifist, but after his arrival to Rome he became the leader of a militarist dictatorship. The tour will show the different houses where the "Duke" lived over the course of 20 years, reflecting his political rise; the places where he received Hitler, Gandhi, Disney and ... his lovers. You will see how and where Mussolini, following his dreams of power and his delusions of grandeur, carried out a relentless policy of demolitions (“sventramenti”) in the center of the city, which destroyed hundreds of houses, erased centuries of history and changed forever the appearance and views of Rome.
