1) Papagayo Park (must see)

The Park Ignacio Manuel Altamirano, best known as the Papagayo Park, contains the largest green area in the city. The park is an ecological and recreational park for adults as well as kids. Papagayo Park offers plenty of entertainment opportunities thanks to a 218 square meter area full of artificial lakes, a skating rink, zoo, and even a library.

Why You Should Visit:
A unique, fun and inexpensive way to spend a few hours exploring traditional attractions of a natural amusement park and/or enjoying some shade while having a snack.
On one side of the park you have the Costera and the Beach and on the other side you have the City where there's plenty of shopping.
You can take a walk or jog inside the park and then you can go swimming a little in the ocean.

Tip:
Climb the iguanario! Very few know that part of the park and the climb is tiring, but the view of the bay is great, and the place itself is really nice.

Iglesia de Cristo Rey is a Catholic church with architectural significance. The church is located close to Costera Miguel Aleman Avenue, or the main street of Acapulco. The church contains the sculpture, "The Christ King of Peace," which was made by William Vergara. The construction of the cathedral began in March 2003, and was designed by the architects Plutarch Barreiro and Francisco Cabrera.

El Rollo Acapulco

4) El Rollo Acapulco (must see)

El Rollo (formerly the CiCi, Centro Internacional de Convivencia Infantil), may sound like a special operation, however, it's nothing more than a mere water park designed to give your family the experience of a lifetime. El Rollo offers a large variety of entertainment options for both youngsters and adults. El Rollo is one of the top-visited amusement parks in the city, thanks to water toboggans, a sky coaster, dolphins, multiple water slides, wave pools, and children’s rides.

Why You Should Visit:
Fun place with lots of slides and pools, good food, good views, hardly any lines, and affordable prices.
The most interesting and cute experience for anyone is, obviously, getting to swim and interact with the dolphins.

Tip:
You're allowed to re-enter the same day with your ticket, but note that not all rides may be open during the week.
5
Centro Cultural de Acapulco

5) Centro Cultural de Acapulco (must see)

Casa de Cultura is located on the Costera Miguel Aleman Avenue. The building is the cultural center of the city and features a fantastic collection of art and literary works, as well as archaeological and historical artifacts. The Centro Cultural de Acapulco also includes an amazing gallery and public library.

Why You Should Visit:
A very nice space of cultural diffusion that houses events of diverse artistic expressions while also being one of the few green lungs in the city.
There are exhibition rooms for painting and sculpture, an amphitheater, a multi-purpose room, a parking lot and beautiful gardens around.

Tip:
Check out the small but colorful craft market outside – a good place to acquire a souvenir.
Friday nights usually reserved for concerts and you might even catch the excellent Orquesta Filarmónica de Acapulco performing.
