The Blind Pig

1) The Blind Pig

This is the city’s most cherished live music venue. The Blind Pig is situated in a 2-storey brick house in western downtown. It started in the early '70s as a European style café with live music. To the colorful crowd of concertgoers they offer Punk, Indie, Rock, Electronica, Experimental, House, and more music styles performed by local bands. The venue is also features Darts, Pool Tables, Trivia and Video Games. Visitors are never disappointed visiting this eccentric nightclub and concert venue. Hours of operation: 3 p.m.-2 a.m. daily.
The Ark

2) The Ark

The Ark is on South Main Street, sharing the site with a number of bright Ann Arbor nightlife venues. Its world renowned, nonprofit, 400-seat club presents acoustic music, and is devoted to the presentation and encouragement of folk, roots and ethnic music. The venue was launched in 1965. The Ark hosts native and international musicians, both emerging and well-known. The club provides about 300 live music performances annually. It features an informal coffee-house atmosphere, and has a separate section where popcorn, cookies and soft drinks are offered.

3) Conor O'Neils

This traditional Irish Pub location is in the eastern part of downtown. The pub features an authentic menu and interior with displayed Irish bric-a-brac. They have a perfect selection of beer, including a long list of draft beer, and a nice wine collection. They provide excellent service, live music and a relaxing ambience that gives way to hours of cheerful drinking and communicating. Hours of operation: Sunday – Tuesday: 11.30 am - 12 am; Wednesday – Saturday: 11.30 am - 2 am.
Comedy Showcase

4) Comedy Showcase

Comedy Showcase is the city’s most original entertainment, presenting the best emerging young stars in the comedy business in the region. "Big stars" perform on this stage too. The venue was started initially in 1984. It is situated underground from Seva restaurant on East Liberty Street. They have a fully stocked bar and snacks. Admission is cheap. It’s a nice, cozy club with closely arranged tables, friendly atmosphere and courteous staff. Show times: Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 11:00 pm.

5) Necto

Necto is large and is one of the most popular nightclubs in the city. It is located on East Liberty Street in downtown Ann Arbor. Loud eclectic music welcomes visitors, creating a lively ambiance and party mood. It offers its customers a wide range of drink specials. The club features DJs from around the world and theme nights dedicated to different music styles ranging from techno and goth to 80s pop and current top. The club has a spacious dance floor, one more bar downstairs in the basement and a patio. Hours of operation: Monday, Thursday through Saturday from 09:00pm to 02:00am.
