The three-storey building has an asymmetric construction; its windows and gables are decorated with coloured ceramics. Gaudiana influence is clearly seen in the refined usage of curved elements and beautiful ceramics. The building’s asymmetry is highlighted by the balcony from the short façade.

This eclectic-secession construction was built in 1891; it was once a Welauer house. The need for a spacious building for the collections of the History and Archaeology Society, founded by Ormós Zsigmond in 1872, resulted in some changes of the house. Since 1953, Ormos house hosts the Academic Library. Time caused the disappearance of the bas-reliefs, but it spared the Minerva statue.
Romano-Catholic Episcopal Palace

6) Romano-Catholic Episcopal Palace

The Romano-Catholic Episcopal Palace is a monument from the baroque period of the city; it was built between 1743 and 1752 and served different administrative purposes. It is said that after the Turkish retreat, it served as a residence for the first Banat’s governor, Claudius Florimund Mercy.
Maria Theresia Bastion

There are statues of Eftimie Murgu, Constantin Diaconovici Loga and Queen Elizabeth in the lyceum’s yard.
