De Kram

1) De Kram

De Kram is a very unusual bar due mostly to its interior decor. All the furniture and ornamental objects in this place are old-styled giving the bar the spirit of an ancient tavern. Above the bar counter there are two enormous kegs, one with one thousand litres and one with five hundred. The interesting thing about the present kegs is that they are in workable condition. Visitors can entertain themselves by playing some chess, backgammon, darts or billiards. The bar has a large screen where all the clips accompanying the music are shown. The diversity of beer, especially poured from the large kegs, is amazing. De Kram is open Tue, Wed, Thu - 14.00 - 02.00 and Fri, Sat - 12.00 - 04.00, Sun 14:00 - 02:00.

The Little One

2) The Little One

The Little One is a pub sheltered by a building dating from 1654, which makes it the most ancient building in the city. It became a pub in 1960. The Little One is not only housed by the oldest structure - it is also, as some sources inform us - the smallest venue. The interior of the pub is delightfully old-styled with some wooden bar stools, a mechanical cash register and a piano to create atmosphere. The bar offers a nice selection of bottled beers and three kinds of tap beer as well as some fine whiskey and cocktails.

O'Sheas Irish Pub

3) O'Sheas Irish Pub

O'Sheas is a very popular, modern and big Irish Pub located in the center of the city. The interior of the pub is designed in a very comfortable, Irish style. Visitors of O'Sheas can attend live music concerts three times a week; all the bands and artists performing on the pub's stage are most professional and talented. A very big screen is also available, used mostly for showing important sport events. Liquors, beers, spirits and other drinks are very present in the bar's menu, as well as some delicious traditional Irish dishes. The pub works Mon, Tues, Wed, Thu, Sun - 13.00 - 02.00, Fri, Sat - 13.00 - 04.00, Sun - 13 - 00.00.

De Vooruitgang

4) De Vooruitgang

De Vooruitgang is a combination of a bar, restaurant and party venue situated in an old building from 1890. It is sectioned off into several parts, each of them having different designs and thematics reflected through the furniture and ornaments. The menu of De Vooruitgang has an incredible variety of drinks including spirits, cocktails, beers and wines. The music that can be listened to and danced to is rather light - seventies, eighties, dance and pop. Visitors are welcome Mon, Sun - 10.00 - 01.00, Tue-Thu - 10.00 - 02.00, Fri, Sat - 10.00 - 03.00.

Usine

5) Usine

Usine is one of the most famous and biggest cafes in Eindhoven. Housed in the first floor of the White Lady, the Usine is a must visit for those who are not indifferent to style, quality and comfort. Bearandbunny Design Company is the designer of the interior of the cafe. It is very contemporary, with some of the details creating the effect of a factory, which is not so strange given that the place formerly belonged to the Philips factory. The cafe is separated into several rooms: the bar, the smoking area, the restaurant and others. Usine is open Mon - Thu - 10.00 - 00.00, Fri, Sat - 10.00 - 01.00, Sun - 10.00 - 00.00.

Tips for Exploring City on Foot at Your Own Pace

Whether you are in Eindhoven for a quick stopover or have a few days to see the city in more detail, exploring it on foot, at your own pace, is definitely the way to go. Here are some tips for you to save money, see the best Eindhoven has to offer, take good care of your feet while walking, and keep your mobile device – your ultimate "work horse" on this trip - well fed and safe.

Taking Care of Your Feet

To ensure ultimate satisfaction from a day of walking around the city as big as Eindhoven, it is imperative to take good care of your feet so as to avoid unpleasant things like blisters, cold or overheated soles, itchy, irritated or otherwise damaged (cracked) skin, etc. Luckily, these days there is no shortage of remedies to address (and, ideally, to prevent) these and other potential problems with feet. Among them: Compression Socks, Rechargeable Battery-Powered Thermo Socks for Cold Weather, Foot Repair Cream, Deodorant Powder, Shoes UV Sterilizer, and many more that you may wish to find a place in your travel kit for.

Travel Gadgets for Your Mobile Device

Your mobile phone or tablet will be your work horse on a self-guided walk. They offer tour map, guide you from one attraction to another, and provide informative background for the sights you wish to visit. Therefore it is absolutely essential to plan against unexpected power outages in the wrong place at the wrong time, much as to ensure the safety of your device.

For these and other contingencies, here's the list of useful appliances: Portable Charger/External Battery Pack, Worldwide Travel Charger Adapter, Power Converter for International Travel Adapter, and Mobile Device Leash.
