A bevy of underground sounds can be heard here, featuring regular nights such as live soul on Wednesday evenings, Tuesday night hip hop sessions, Brit pop on Thursday evenings, and various events on the weekends which can include anything from DJ sets or live music performances with an emphasis on underground and alternative artists.

The lower level features the main bar, where guests mingle and socialize over drinks. The second floor features a living room-style space where guests can recline on the mod furniture and take in the inviting atmosphere. The third level is where guests DJs serve up the beats and patrons get down on the dance floor. R Place also regularly hosts drag shows, which pack in a good crowd, and feature male go go dancers to spice up the party atmosphere.
