LAK Theater

1) LAK Theater

The LAK Theater aims to support the Foundation by contributing to make this place available for special activities and program components. Visitors are treated with very nice and usually short plays, as well as funny little stories for children. But you are also able to participate in a warm up or even design a beautiful brochure to promote the dance program. Of course, your whole family can do a little dance right here in the LAK! It is always a great time for kids and their parents as well.
Hortus Botanicus

2) Hortus Botanicus (must see)

Hortus Botanicus is one of Europe's first botanical gardens. Nowadays it represents a part of the University of Leiden. The Botanical Garden also has a Japanese garden that bears the name of Von Siebolt, a Dutch scientist who did botanical research in Japan in the 19th century. Another garden is named after the Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus. The most important thing is that children love this place - so much to see, smell, touch and so much space to run and play. Don't forget to take pictures and send them to your friends and relatives!
Leiden Observatory

3) Leiden Observatory

Leiden Observatory (Sterrewacht Leiden) is an astronomical observatory where many notorious astronomers and physicists have been doing research. Some of them are Willem de Sitter, Ejnar Hertzsprung and Jan Oort. Of course your children won't remember this information, but the things they will see there are memories for life. The building is open to explore, search, go up and watch the stars or other phenomena. Kids adore all the things inside - different telescopes, special sun glasses and other electronic machinery that are very attractive for the little ones.
Van der Werfpark

4) Van der Werfpark

Every parent knows that kids need fresh air, good water, good food and love in order to grow up healthy and brilliant. Because we care, we propose a nice walk in the Werfpark, a large green area, perfect for parents to rest while children are running, jumping and having a snack. In this park you will see the Mayor's Van der Werf Statue and the adjacent exotic garden. It is usually a quiet and pleasant place, and the lake beside the park is a delight in the middle of a noisy, long day.
Kinderopvang 't Kasteel

5) Kinderopvang 't Kasteel

Mister Amos, the Chancellor of the "troops" welcomes every child that comes to visit his castle for kids. Normally it is the role of a chancellor to motivate the troops, however, for the troops of the Castle, it is not necessary to motivate - kids know their job: jump around, play games, communicate, sing and dance. This is really a wonderful place where all children can enjoy the fun outside of school childcare. The parents and their kids will be impressed by the staff - everyone wears real clothes from the 17th century! Long dresses and plastic swords - the whole arsenal just to make your child happy. Trust us; it will be a problem going home after you visit the Child Castle!
