There is a Cinema Museum in Catania. It contains many relics and reconstructions of scenes from famous movies that were shot in Catania. The museum was opened in 2003. Cinema Museum exhibits photos of films made in Catania. It also tells the history of the invention of Cinema, its technical development. There is a collection of projectors and lamps. Fontana di Proserpina is a big and very beautiful fountain in Rail Station Square. The fountain was completed in 1904 and is made from concrete. It depicts a scene from Greek and Roman mythology - a man with a frowning face, horses, and mermaids ripping the beautiful Persephone, daughter of Zeus. All these statues are placed in the centre of a large tank equipped with a powerful hydraulic system. At night it looks even more impressive due to the illumination of different colours.
