1) Pathana Boupha Antique House

Pathana Boupha Antique House is one of the most impressive collections of historical items in Luang Prabang, and is located on the second floor of a colonial French mansion. It sells and exhibits extremely diverse things, for example, old royal government pictures, antique money, armour and jewelry, some of which belonged to the famous people of Laos. It also specializes in different kinds of fabric from all ethnic groups around the country.

The Lao Red Cross is the filial of the world renowned organization in Luang Prabang. In order to help local people achieve a better lifestyle, it organizes different courses and entertaining activities. For example, it includes a spa salon and a sauna, where tourists and locals can have a wonderful time for less money than usual. The treatment includes a traditional Lao massage, which is most popular among visitors.

3) Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre (must see)

The Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre which provides information about the Laoan culture and traditions. It includes all the ethnicities in the country. It contains a wide collection of objects which represent the religion, lifestyle and character of the locals. Many seminars, exhibitions and other similar activities are often held in the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre. Even if it was opened only in 2007, it became very popular among locals and tourists.

4) Fresh Produce Market (must see)

The Fresh Produce Market is the perfect spot for people who like to get up early in the morning. It opens at approximately five o'clock in the morning and has an incredible amount of different fruit, vegetables, meat, spices and other goods. There are also traditionally cooked meals. The most amazing part of the market is the very exotic products such as honeycombs, silkworms and forest rats.
The Blue House

5) The Blue House

The Blue House is located in the center of Luang Prabang. It represents a branch office of the Design Centre Vientiane. The building was built in 1935. The aim of the Blue House is to promote, exhibit and sell handicraft products of different ethnic groups in Laos. It is also responsable for the organization of Lao Northern Handicraft Exhibition which takes place once a year.

The Three Elephants Cafe, also known as Tamnak Lao, is another Laoan restaurant which serves exclusively traditionally cooked food. Due to the perfect service, tasty traditional meals and pleasant atmosphere, it is one of the most visited places in Luang Prabang. The restaurant has a cooking class as well, which includes the lesson, a little cook book and the degustation of the prepared meals afterwards.

7) Ock Pop Tok (must see)

Ock Pop Tok is a weaving center which has two shops in Luang Prabang. One of them is located in the Old Qarter of the town, near the Royal Palace. Within Ock Pop Tok, numerous events are organized periodically: workshops, exhibitions, seminars and other activities. It concentrates on the production and sale of textile products made by the Laoan people. The most popular goods are diverse clothes specific to the Laoan culture and traditions. The most commonly used fabrics for producing the Ock Pop Tok products are silk, hemp and cotton.

8) Tamarind Restaurant

Tamarind Restaurant was created especially for foreigners who want to become a part of the Laoan culture temporarily, by trying its exotic meals. They are prepared exclusively using fresh traditional ingredients, usually bought at the morning market not far from the restaurant. The special thing about Tamarind is its cooking classes, where tourists are included in the process of cooking delicious Laoan food.

The Spa Garden is one of the best spas in Luang Prabang. Aside from the common massages, the Spa Garden provides treatments specific only to the Lao culture.
