A notable alternative music club responsible for the CD release party that launched Alanis Morrisette’s career, the Velvet Underground attracts a lively crowd consisting of mainly university students and college-age guests. The main room hosts a variety of events and bands, while the club space hosts the major performances and is designed with found metal angels throughout the space. The club space also includes pool tables for guests to pass the time between sets. Wednesday evenings is the night for live bands, while house DJs spin on other nights, serving up a variety of alternative tunes, including retro favorites from the eighties and nineties for its popular Sunday night parties.

One of the city’s best spots for live rock music, Tattoo can be found in the Queen West area of Toronto. Holding a maximum capacity of 150 guests, this intimate live music venue features two levels of entertainment.
