Banooria Town Jamia Mosque is one of the many mosques in Karachi, yet Banooria is easily one of the most original. The architecture proudly displays high towers and wine-colored walls, as well as the Islamic Educational Center.

Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum

2) Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum (must see)

Mazar-e-Quaid Jinnah Mausoleum or the National Mausoleum refers to the tomb of the founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah. It is an iconic symbol of Karachi throughout the world. The mausoleum, completed in the 1960s, is situated at the heart of the city. The location is usually calm and tranquil which is significant considering that it is in the heart of one of the largest global megalopolises. The glowing tomb can be seen for miles at night.

The Mausoleum building is made of white marble with curved Moorish arches and copper grills reset on an elevated 54 square meters platform. The mausoleum is placed in a 53 hectare park and the size of building is 75x75 m on ground and 43 m high, built on an 4 m high platform. In each wall is placed an entrance. 15 successive fountains lead to the platform from one side and from all sides terraced avenues lead to the gates. The cool inner sanctum reflects the green of a four-tiered crystal chandelier gifted by the people of China. Around the mausoleum there is a park fitted with strong beamed spot-lights which at night project light on the white mausoleum.

Soldier Bazar is a very old market which sells meat, fruit, and vegetables. The market was established during the reign of the British, as it served as a shopping venue for British soldiers. Soldier Bazar, along with the rest of the markets in the city, are open to bargaining.

Shri Panch Mukhi Hanuman Temple

4) Shri Panch Mukhi Hanuman Temple

Shri Panch Mukhi Hanuman Temple is located in the Soldier Bazar neighborhood. Shir Panch Mukhi Hanuman Temple is another famous landmark of the city and draws large crowds due to a statue of Punch Mukhi that was not carved by people, but rather through nature. Legend has it that the statue is much older that the temple itself, which was build in 1927.

Nishtar Park is situated in Orangi Town. It was previously named Patel Park. The present name of this site is in memory of Sardar Abdur Rab Nishtar, one of the members of the Pakistan Movement. The park is a very popular place for various political and religious meetings and events.

Qadri Mosque is located behind the Islamia Club. The entrance of the Mosque is covered with numerous inscriptions from the quran. The architecture of the mosque is especially fascinating, as Quadri is very old, built prior to Pakistan's Independence.
