1) Cairns Presbyterian Church

Cairns Presbyterian Church is a church with rich visions and values. It holds a morning service for people from young families and a night service specifically organized for teenagers and youth on the teachings of the Bible. The latter has music and interactive activities. The Presbyterian Church is an international church, and provides services in Korean and Japanese. The Church has it’s own music group and new talents are always welcome to join.

It's the first church to be built in Cairns, in 1884 and by that time, the only practiced religion was the Church of England. The building that is known today as the St. John The Evangelist Anglican Church, isn’t the original one. The original St. John was damaged by a cyclone and, in 1920, was demolished. Fortunately, in 1927, a new church was blessed and has since been a hub of activity. The church owns items of historic value, such as wooden vestries, a hexagonal pulpit, and brass crosses.

The Church tries to cover the spiritual needs of the residents, whatever their age. As the Presbyterian Church, the Uniting Church holds services in Korean. There is also a Samoan Congregational Church, specifically for the indigenous religion.

The followers of the Seventh Day Adventist Church go to church on Saturdays. According to the Ten Commandments, the world was created in six days and the seventh is a day of rest. Sabbath, or Saturday, is a day of worship and it lasts from Friday’s sunset until Saturday’s sunset. As with many other churches, the Seventh Day Adventist Church is involved in daily activities.
