Railroad Museum is located directly across the street from the Alsancak Train Station. The old mansion which contains the museum, is history in itself considering that the British constructed it around 1858. The museum tells the history of railroads, trains and its staff from its origins until the present day.

The museum of arts was founded in 1985 and was named after its founder, Selçuk Yaşar. Yaşar was famous for being a successful businessman in the country and today helps celebrate his legacy by honoring the arts. The museum has two levels. The first level is used to display paintings, while the second level is used to display the museum’s permanent collection.

Izmir Ataturk Museum is located in a two-story mansion, which was built in a neoclassical style in 1880. The building was once the house of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, a revolutionary politician as well as the first president of the Turkish Republic. After his death, the Izmir municipality transformed this house into a museum and today features furniture, art, clothes and other personal items that belonged to Ataturk and his wife.

Izmir's Metropolitan Municipality Ahmet Piriştina Museum of Metropolitan History and Archive was established in 2004 and dedicated to the former Mayor of Izmir - Ahmet Piristina. It is a very interesting museum thanks to the vast amount of history contained within its walls. Along with the special collection, the museum also contains records of the largest fires ever witnessed in the city.

Additionally, the museum is very famous for its reconstructions of house rooms and workshops from 19th century Izmir.

Umran Baradan Museum of Toys and Games was created by Umran Baradan (a well known ceramic artist) and Izmir Authorities. This museum is the second museum of toys established in Turkey. The museum provides a terrific collection of approximately 1000 toys, some of which date back to the 1860s. The museum also houses a very pretty garden with big statues of modern cartoon heroes.
