The National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) is the leading Indian art gallery. The main museum at Jaipur House in New Delhi was established on March 29, 1954 by the Government of India, with subsequent branches at Mumbai and Bangalore. Its collection of more than 14,000 works includes artists such as Thomas Daniell, Raja Ravi Verma, Abanindranath Tagore, Rabindranath Tagore, Gaganendranath Tagore, Nandalal Bose, Jamini Roy, Amrita Sher-Gil as well as foreign artists, apart from sculptures by various artists. Some of the oldest works preserved here date back to 1857. The finest painting collection, spiritual sculptures, contemporary artworks of the Indian leading artists, treasure of numerous publications, films on artists' awards are reserved here. Galleries, displaying the important collection of artistic objects, are developed constantly and aesthetic art-shows are organized.

National Museum of Natural History is located at Mandi House in New Delhi. It was established in the year 1978 by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The most notable items in the collection are a Satyagraha woodcut by Willemia Muller Ogterop, one of Gandhi's walking sticks, the shawl and dhoti worn by Gandhi when he was assassinated, one of the bullets that were used to kill Gandhi and his urn.
