Shopping in Stuttgart would not be complete without a visit to Koenig Strasse, a 1.2 km long pedestrian shopping street. On this shopping tour, not only will you visit Koenig Strasse, but 14 different shops, many of them offering unique items or items made in Germany. Note that stores are closed on Sundays in Germany.

It also makes for an interesting place to window shop if the prices are beyond your reach.

Here is where you can get your traditional southern Germany clothing worn in Bavaria and Austria. Women wear a dirndl (a blouse and a full skirt) while men wear lederhosen (mid-length leather pants). This is a perfect way to get into the spirit of Oktoberfest, but they also carry more elegant dirndls including those adorned with embroidery or Swarovski crystals.

This is also a fantastic place to buy special occasion chocolate such as Advent Calendars for Christmas or Easter bunnies. They also have a good selection of mouth watering marzipan.
