Al Sabil Public Park, Aleppo

The Al-Sabil Park is a 6-hectare long-standing urban park with a rectangular shape. Its fountains and monuments make it a beautiful place to walk around in. The park was opened in 1895, under the Ottoman ruler of Aleppo; wāli Raif Pasha. It was named after a water-drinking fountain called Sabil ad-darawish, located on the area where the park was founded. In May 2007, new dancing water fountains were installed at the centre of the park. Look out for the unusual fountain in the western corner of the park known as Dwar Al Sabil, which is in the shape of a jug. You can avail of playgrounds and a restaurant inside the park as well.
