Alaska Raptor Center, Sitka

The Alaska Raptor Center serves as a vital rehabilitation facility for injured birds of prey, offering them medical treatment and care with the goal of releasing them back into their natural habitats. Annually, the center assists over 200 birds, providing them with specialized care to help them recover and regain their ability to thrive in the wild. For birds that are unable to survive independently, the center provides a permanent home as part of its "Raptors-in-Residence" program.

Situated along the picturesque Indian River on a scenic 17-acre sanctuary, the Alaska Raptor Center offers visitors the opportunity to observe and learn about various species of birds, including bald and golden eagles, hawks, and owls. Visitors can witness firsthand the rehabilitation process at the flight-training center, where injured birds undergo physical therapy and practice essential skills needed for survival in their natural environment.
