Ancien Hôtel de Ville de Saint-Denis, Saint Denis (must see)
Le Ancien Hôtel de Ville de Saint-Denis is the former city hall of Saint-Denis. The edifice was built between 1946 and 1960. Ancien Hôtel de Ville de Saint-Denis occupies 37 square meters of beautiful masonry work, having also woodwork, metalwork and other decorations. The building's architecture features colonial style, baroque columns, small balconies, gallery balustrades, and a small bell in the middle of the attic. There are also the beautiful arched hallway and a gallery of arcades hosting the various chambers. Ancien Hôtel de Ville de Saint-Denis also features an impressive courtyard with the fountain with the Renaissance-styled statue surrounded by the two-story arched gallery. Next to the former city hall is the Colonne de la Victoire (the Victory Column), raised in 1923 in memoriam of solders in World War I.
