Established in 1977, Artifacts Contemporary Art has been a cornerstone of the American contemporary craft scene, offering a curated collection of exceptional designs by talented American artists. Artifacts was co-founded by Ann Kaplan and her friend Dotty, starting as a passion project in Ann’s living room. Their love for arts and crafts created a space connecting artists with patrons. Ann’s active involvement in craft councils, fairs, and local advocacy established the gallery as a Broad Ripple landmark and a supporter of small businesses. In 2017, Ann’s daughter Jeannie, who grew up immersed in the gallery's vibrant culture, took over, carrying forward her mother’s vision of integrating art into everyday life. Today, Artifacts thrives as a community hub, connecting creators and collectors through its dynamic offerings.
