Creative Discovery Museum, Chattanooga

The Creative Discovery Museum is a vibrant children’s museum dedicated to hands-on learning and play. Opened on May 26, 1995, the museum features a variety of interactive exhibits designed to engage children aged 18 months to 12 years in subjects like art, music, and science. Among its standout attractions are RiverPlay, a two-story water-themed zone, an inventor’s workshop, and a rooftop exhibit that offers scenic views and interactive learning opportunities. The museum also hosts a rotating temporary exhibit space, ensuring that visitors always have something new to explore.

One of the museum's highlights is RiverPlay, where children can climb a swinging bridge, slide down a twisting tunnel, and explore a riverboat area designed for toddlers. This exhibit also features a water table, where kids can learn about the mechanics of lock and dam systems. Younger visitors can explore The Little Yellow House, a designated play space for toddlers. The art and music areas introduce children to global cultures through interactive exhibits, allowing them to experiment with different artistic techniques and musical instruments. In the field science area, children can dig for fossils and investigate prehistoric creatures, making learning about dinosaurs an exciting hands-on experience.
