Fray Garcia de San Francisco, El Paso

Located in Pioneer Plaza, the statue of Fray Garcia de San Francisco is a treasure in El Paso. It is one the 12 statues which commemorate important people who left their mark on the city’s history. The official dedication ceremony of the 14 ft bronze monument took place in 1996. The statue is dedicated to the priest who started El Paso’s first mission - he was the founder of the city.
