Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza Hotel, Cincinnati
Opened in 1931 and still turning heads, the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza is a living showcase of French Art Deco elegance-complete with Brazilian rosewood, intricate murals, and custom nickel-silver fixtures that made early critics claim it “challenged the splendor of King Solomon’s Temple.” Located within the historic Carew Tower complex, this architectural marvel was developed by Cincinnati mogul John J. Emery and envisioned as a “city within a city.” With the help of skyscraper specialist William A. Starrett, who also worked on the Empire State Building, the project brought together boutiques, offices, and what would become one of America's finest hotels.
Now a National Historic Landmark and a charter member of Historic Hotels of America, the Netherland Plaza offers more than just a stay-it’s an experience. Inside, you’ll find the famed Hall of Mirrors, a shimmering space of restored Art Deco splendor, and a Rookwood Pottery fountain that echoes Cincinnati’s artistic heritage. From the top of the hotel, panoramic views of downtown Cincinnati await, with Fountain Square just steps away and over 100 shops and restaurants within a four-block radius.
Guest rooms feature modern comforts like flat-screen TVs, free WiFi, and custom-designed beds, while suites offer extra space and pull-out sofas. For dining, guests can enjoy everything from a relaxed grill to a lavish 1930s-style cocktail bar, or indulge at the acclaimed on-site restaurant known for its locally sourced, contemporary American cuisine.
Blending vintage charm with modern luxury, the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza remains a jewel of downtown Cincinnati and a true icon of American hospitality.
