Kolejkowo (Train World), Wroclaw

Train World is Poland’s largest railway model, spanning over 700 square meters. This intricate exhibit showcases some of the most iconic spots in Wrocław and Lower Silesia, featuring 700 meters of tracks, 15 trains, and 242 buildings, including miniatures of real-life structures from the region. The creators, located on the first floor of Sky Tower, have painstakingly recreated the bustling life of miniature inhabitants with both precision and a touch of humor.

The display includes faithfully replicated landmarks like Wrocław’s Market Square, with its detailed tenement houses and city hall, Świebodzki Station, and the "toilet seat" buildings from Grunwaldzki Square. Outside the cityscape, you'll find pieces of Lower Silesia, such as the observatory on Śnieżka and the "Szwajcarka" shelter in Rudawy Janowickie. Trains and trams regularly circle through the scene, including a historic white and red tram near Wrocław’s Market Square, evoking the city's pre-war era. A miniature ship sails the Oder River amidst the railway tracks, adding to the lively atmosphere.

The model also features a realistic day and night cycle, with tiny inhabitants living their lives – working on construction sites, commuting, dining, shopping, and even engaging in nighttime activities, with lights flickering on in apartments and hotels, sometimes revealing a cheeky side of life. The exhibit is full of playful details, like a graffiti-style sign demanding "Karpacz wants access to the sea" and a Polish version of the presidents' mountain. Visitors can interact with buttons that animate cranes and even make goldfish talk.

The model was crafted by 20 modelers over several years and continues to grow, with new elements being added regularly. Each miniature was meticulously planned, with the team preparing extensive documentation, photographs, sketches, and measurements before beginning construction.
