Kornmarkt Square, Heidelberg

Kornmarkt Square, Heidelberg

Kornmarkt is a lovely square situated not far from Heidelberg Castle. Dominating it is the Mariensäule statue, featuring three well basins on the sides, and commonly referred to as Kornmarkt Madonna, erected in 1718 by Peter van den Branden. Kornmarkt is lined with a number of souvenir shops and stalls selling traditional German food. All that, complete with the nearby cobbled streets, add a great deal of character to the place, making it ideal for a leisurely walk and good time out!
