La Regenta statue was installed in the Cathedral Square in 1997. It depicts Ana, the main heroine of the realist novel “La Regenta” by Spanish author Leopoldo Alas y Ureña. The statue was created by Mauro Álvarez and delights with its realism and meticulous attention to details.
