St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Fort Worth

Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church, established in 1875, represents the earliest continuous Episcopal congregation in Fort Worth. Initially organized as a mission church by missionary bishop Alexander Charles Garrett, the parish formally began holding services at the Tarrant County courthouse before laying the cornerstone of its dedicated building in 1877. In the late 20th and early 21st centuries, St. Andrew's notably participated in theological movements, ultimately joining the Anglican Church in North America following disagreements within the broader Episcopal community.

The church occupies a Gothic Revival building designed by the architectural firm Sanguinet & Staats, completed in 1912. Constructed from gray dolomite quarried in Carthage, Missouri, the structure features a traditional cruciform layout and is distinguished by two towers of differing heights on its western corners.

Interior highlights include stained glass windows created primarily by Jacoby Art Glass of St. Louis and an English-crafted rose window depicting Jesus with Andrew and Peter. Additionally, the sanctuary contains a marble altar installed in 1931 as a memorial and an Italian-carved rood screen made from Austrian oak, separating the chancel from the nave.
