The Aquarium of Boise, Boise
The Aquarium of Boise is a nonprofit educational facility that opened in 2011 and now welcomes around 25,000 visitors each month. Its mission is to inspire conservation through hands-on interaction with both aquatic and terrestrial species. While it began as a work in progress, the aquarium has steadily expanded, adding new exhibits and educational programs.
Home to over 250 species, the aquarium features a shark nursery, coral reef habitat, jellyfish tank, tide pools, and a shark and stingray pool. Visitors can touch or hold animals such as coral, starfish, crabs, sharks, and rays. In addition to marine life, the facility includes a growing collection of terrestrial and arboreal animals like lories, tree frogs, and chameleons, along with an expanded reptile exhibit.
