The Home of Ferenc Martyn, Pecs

The Home of Ferenc Martyn operates as the museum dedicated to Ferenc Martyn, who was born in Hungary in 1899 and who was one of the greatest Hungarian painters, sculptors and designers of his age, being one of the first Hungarian non-figurative school representatives. The artist lived here between 1945 and 1967, enjoying art and living with his wife Klára Martyn. On the main facade of the building you can see the memorial plaque indicative of the 22 years he spent here. He also spent 14 years in Paris, until 1940, where he became a member of the so-called Abstraction-Creation artist group.
