Every Wednesday from 8 am to 12:15 pm, under the covered market halls, the Marché de producteurs welcomes visitors seeking fresh, local, organic produce. Organised by LUNAB, an association supporting sustainable agriculture, the market showcases eleven passionate local producers. Six are present every week, and three rotate bi-weekly. Everything is sourced within 50 km of Chatillon-sur-Chalaronne, so you know your vegetables, cheeses, and artisanal treats are genuinely local and seasonal. Saturdays are something special here. The market has been classified nationally as an “exceptional market” and was voted the Most Beautiful Market in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region (third in all of France) on TF1. The vast market halls, stretching over 300 metres, are filled with around sixty producers offering cheese, poultry, game, fresh fish from the Dombes region, charcuterie, meats, and ready-to-eat meals.
