Exploring Quy Nhon’s Fishing Village Heritage in Nhon Ly, Quy Nhon, Vietnam

Visitors to Quy Nhơn are often lured by the postcard-perfect beaches, but few are aware that there are plenty of urban attractions worth exploring on their own.

One hidden gem that most visitors often overlook is the commune of Nhơn Lý, which had evolved from a former fishing village into a charming coastal lifestyle destination-one that consciously recalls the charm of Grecian island Santorini.

Located at the northern end of the Nhơn Lý fishing village, visitors can find beautiful narrow valleys which at times harken back to the beauty of Santorini. Houses are beautifully painted in hues of white and blue, with occasional murals thrown in for good measure. It is recommended that you allocate a few hours to fully explore the nooks and crannies of the lovely Green Stone Road.

As you descend down from the Green Stone Road, you will eventually reach the rugged coastal beach of Eo Gio. The area is beautiful and it is perfect for you to take a moment to rest and recuperate, perhaps do a quick picnic if you wish.

There is also a stair pathway leading upwards, which I suspect used to connect to the famous Eo Gio Pathway, but it seems like the area is deserted (and I visited the Eo Gio Pathway separately, which is a dead end halfway). As the weather does get very windy, I did not spend further time exploring the stair pathway as it felt like it could get dangerous, but if you are curious you may wish to check with the locals about this pathway before attempting to explore it on your own. ......
