Langkawi – The Goa of Malaysia, Langkawi, Malaysia

Having been to Malaysia before where I had only covered Kuala Lumpur in the past, I wanted to go to the country again after my month long workation in Vietnam & Thailand was coming to an end. With Langkawi in the proximity, I picked the destination so I could relax for sometime before deciding which direction to head further. And woah ! Langkawi turned out to be more awesome than what I thought it’d be and I couldn’t have chosen a better place to unwind and gather my travel thoughts again.

I arrived into Langkawi from KL, around late evening. Having done a li’l bit of research of where to stay for my kind of travel & explore I chose to book a place in Pentai Cenang area. It was about a 15min car ride from Langkawi Airport hardly costing me about 15MYR. As I was being taken to my accommodation, after the first 10mins of the drive it felt like I was heading into a familiar part of South Goa, the Benaulim/Palolem kind of area but with broader roads and lesser people. Though for a place like that it was too quiet for 7pm, despite all the stores/restaurants/pubs being open. I for a few minutes thought that perhaps I was in the wrong part of Langkawi.. ......
