Anthony's Antiques & Fine Arts, Salt Lake City

Anthony's Antiques & Fine Arts, Salt Lake City

Anthony’s Antiques & Fine Arts in Salt Lake City is more than just a gallery-it’s a journey through history, art, and craftsmanship that spans centuries. Established by Anthony Christensen in 1984, this family-owned business has grown from a humble antique shop to the largest fine arts gallery in the region, showcasing treasures from across the globe. The founder and his son-in-law are hands-on in their pursuit, traveling far and wide to source unique pieces, including paintings from the seventeenth to the nineteenth century, rare furniture, decorative arts, and architectural elements.

Housed in a striking 25,000 square-foot gallery within a historic church designed by architect John A. Headlund, Anthony’s is a place where art and history converge. This building, originally the Immanuel Baptist Church, was built in 1911 and stands as a landmark on the National Register of Historic Places. After serving multiple roles-from a congregation site to a rehearsal space for the Utah Symphony-the church was transformed into a gallery that reflects its original grandeur. Now, as custodians of this rich heritage, Anthony’s honors the building’s legacy with an exquisite collection that includes traditional and religious art.

Visitors to Anthony’s Antiques & Fine Arts are not just buying art-they’re becoming part of a lineage. The gallery’s mission is to ensure these exceptional artifacts continue to inspire, moving gracefully from one guardian to the next, preserving beauty and history for generations to come.
