Saint Catherine's Church also known more formally Church of Saint Catherine of Alexandria is a parish of the Roman Catholic Church in Limassol, Cyprus. It falls under the authority of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem. The church, a three-aisle church with a baroque interior, was built between 1872 and 1879, and was officially opened on the day of the feast of Saint Catherine, on 25 November, with the presence of foreign delegations and Governor of British Cyprus. It was designed by Francesco da Monghidoro, an Italian Franciscan. It underwent a restoration in 1979. Religious services are given in Greek and English.

The building have a three-aisle church with a baroque interior, was built between 1872 and 1879, and was officially opened on the day of the feast of Saint Catherine, on 25 November, the ‘Big Day’ for our parish. It was designed by Francesco da Monghidoro, an Italian Franciscan. It underwent a restoration in 1979.

The church was built in Limassol in 1879 and is dedicated to Saint Catherine. The architect Friar Francescoda Monghidoro from Bologna followed the prevailing European trends of the season for such buildings. Use Baroque elements, inside, choosing a more ecclesiastical pattern for the exterior façade, a main element of which is the main entrance. The walls of the arches and the dome decorated with neo-Byzantine frescoes painted in 1979 during renovation.

At the Limassol seaside road, an extraordinary building stands out, with its majestic facade and white columns. With a baroque style in the interior, with an eclectic design on the exterior, the church follows the artistic trend of that period throughout Europe for similar buildings. The building, designed by the architect, Fr Francesco da Monghidoro, a Franciscan from Bologna, has 3 aisles with a single apse and it is 23 meters long by 15 meters wide. In 1979, the church was restored. An 80-square-meter Byzantine fresco was painted on the apse, behind the altar. The saints painted are Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Michael the Archangel, the Virgin Mary, Saint Gabriel, Saint Catherine, Saint Anthony of Padua, Saint Epihpaneus, the Apostles Peter and Andrew, Saint Hilarion and Saint Barnabas, a native of Cyprus. The inauguration of the restored church took place on November 15th, 1981. ***PH***
