Confederation Landing Park, Charlottetown

Confederation Landing Park, Charlottetown

Confederation Landing Park marks the historic waterfront site where delegates to the Charlottetown Conference of 1864 first set foot on Prince Edward Island. The park preserves this symbolic landing place while also functioning as a landscaped public space.

Completed in 1995, this roughly six-acre park was created through a community-driven design process led by Hough, Stansbury & Woodland Limited, transforming a former Texaco tank farm into an inviting civic space. Its amenities-walking paths, boardwalk promenade, skating oval, bandstand, lush gardens, and a convenient parking lot-make it a welcoming destination in both summer and winter.

Confederation Landing is also a cultural focal point, frequently hosting outdoor concerts, markets, including a seasonal Sunday vendor market, and local events. Nearby, Peake’s Wharf, cafés, and shops add to the fare, offering a full waterfront experience.
