Corpus, Leiden

CORPUS, located in Oegstgeest near Leiden, offers a one-of-a-kind journey into the wonders of the human body. This interactive museum, the first of its kind in the world, takes visitors on a spectacular 55-minute tour through the intricacies of the human form. From entering through the knee to exiting through the brain, the experience combines education and entertainment to create an unforgettable adventure.

Visitors can see, feel, and hear how the human body functions, exploring everything from the beginnings of life in the womb to the workings of major organs such as the intestines, pancreas, and heart. The highlight of the journey is the 5D Heart Theater, where visitors follow the journey of a red blood cell, and the exploration of the brain, celebrated as the greatest wonder of all. Guided by an audio tour available in eight languages and designed for groups of up to six, the journey feels like stepping inside your own body.

After the guided tour, the interactive "My CORPUS" exhibit invites visitors to delve deeper into human biology. Hands-on displays and games explore questions like how the brain perceives the world, how hearing works, and what factors influence happiness and health. This part of CORPUS offers something for all ages, making it an enriching experience for families and individuals alike.

Opened in 2008 by Queen Beatrix, CORPUS was envisioned by founder Henri Remmers as a way to inspire people to live healthier lives. The museum promotes the importance of exercise, balanced nutrition, and overall wellness. Beyond the museum, the building also houses the CORPUS Congress Centre, a hub for events at Leiden Bio Science Park, the Netherlands' leading innovation district for Life Sciences and Health.

Whether you’re visiting for the awe-inspiring exhibits or attending a business event in its state-of-the-art facilities, CORPUS delivers an experience that’s both educational and inspiring.
