It all began in the year 2000, founder Mr. Dimi Mavropoulos had a vision. Being a veteran of international and local Rally Racing, Mr. Mavropoulos decided to offer a unique experience to all classic car enthusiasts. After a lot of hard work, turned his idea into a reality and the first Historic and Classic Motor Museum in Cyprus open its doors to the public. Since its opening in February 2014, Cyprus Historic and Classic Motor Museum remains the only automobile museum in Cyprus. Imagine walking into a museum where you get to radiate your passion and enthusiasm and share it with likeminded people. This is a place where you can create memories and live out your fantasies. Located in the area of Lemesos (Limassol) in a spacious 3.000 square meters, you will admire more than 120 Classic, Historic and Collectible Cars. The Cyprus Historic and Classic Motor Museum is comprised of the personal car collection of veteran champion of international and Cypriot rally competitions, Mr Dimi Mavropoulos, who founded the museum especially to display the eclectic collection. The museum highlights the cultural importance of the development and growth of the automobile industry and includes a Ford ‘T’ roadster from 1912, which has over 100 years of life on the road. Vehicles that have both cultural and emotional significance for the Cypriot people are also exhibited, and include the armoured presidential Cadillac, built especially for President Makarios III in 1977. You will also find the well-known - and officially certified - green Mini from the popular ‘Mr Bean’ movies, as well as one of the Rover P5 cars of 1973 used by the ‘Iron Lady’ Margaret Thatcher, former Prime Minister of the UK.
