Edificio Wilson (Wilson Tower), Asuncion

Located on Eligio Ayala Street between Constitución and Brasil Streets, the Wilson Tower is one of Asunción’s most iconic skyscrapers. Built in 1993 during a period of economic transformation in Paraguay, the tower quickly became a symbol of the city’s shift toward vertical urban development. With a height of 107 meters (351 feet) and 31 floors, it held the title of the tallest building in the country for nearly two decades before being surpassed by the 136-meter Icono Tower.

Primarily a residential building, Wilson Tower stands out not only for its height but also for its distinctive facade, often compared to classic LEGO blocks due to its geometric simplicity and modular design. This architectural choice gives it a unique place among the city’s skyline.

Besides serving as a home for numerous residents, the tower also plays a role in local media-its antenna is outfitted with a camera used by several television channels to capture panoramic views of Asunción and its surroundings.
