Ghana Post Office, Accra

The first modern post office was established in Cape Coast in 1853 to facilitate mail exchange between the Gold Coast and the United Kingdom. When the capital moved from Cape Coast to Accra in 1877, the postal service headquarters also relocated, and by the 1880s, a Central Post Office building was constructed to reflect its importance.
