Grimaldi Forum, Monte-Carlo
Established in 2000, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco takes its name from the Grimaldi family, the longstanding rulers of Monaco. This venue holds a prominent position on the international stage, serving both as a congress center and a cultural hotspot. With an annual lineup of 120 events and drawing in 250,000 visitors, it plays a vital role in Monaco's global standing and economic prosperity.
Spanning an impressive 75,000 square meters, this complex was built atop reclaimed land in the Mediterranean Sea. Located on Avenue Princesse Grace in the Larvotto district, Monégasque architects Notari, Génin, and Allavena designed the structure using a combination of concrete, glass, and steel. The inauguration took place on July 20th, 2000, with Prince Rainier III and H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco presiding over the event.
The Grimaldi Forum Monaco boasts a versatile hosting capacity, accommodating up to 4,000 visitors daily. It serves as a versatile venue for an array of events including seminars, conferences, conventions, exhibitions, gala dinners, performances, operas, ballets, concerts, festivals, and business-related activities.
Since its inception, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco has annually curated significant thematic art exhibitions during the summer season. The Salle des Princes, Monaco's largest auditorium, featuring almost 1,900 seats and a substantial 1,000-square-meter stage (comparable to Opéra Bastille), hosts a diverse range of productions. The venue's "hall of fame" showcases musicals, concerts, ballets, orchestral performances, magic shows, and even circus and theater productions.
In addition to its event hosting capabilities, the Grimaldi Forum serves as the headquarters for several of Monaco's cultural institutions, including the Monte-Carlo Ballets, the Philharmonic Orchestra and the Opera, the Monte-Carlo Arts Festival, the Audiovisual Institute, and the Princesse Grace Theater.
