Jardín Botánico y Zoológico, Asuncion (must see)

The Municipality of Asuncion acquired Jardín Botánico y Zoológico in 1947. The botanical garden has a rich collection of animals, including mammals, reptiles and insects native to Paraguay. In addition to a stunning array of plants, the garden is also home to a small zoo and the country house of former President Carlos Lopez. The house has been transformed into a museum, which focuses on Asuncion's wildlife, history and ethnology.
