Birds, migratory birds, birds of prey, pollinators, salamanders, turtles, beavers, raccoons, rabbits and the humble vole, all find a haven and resting place here, in Kathryn Albertson Park.

The Park also provides opportunities for people to see the birds and animals in a calm, quiet setting. The Idaho Birding Trail (IBT) is a web of sites that provide the best viewing in Idaho. There are 175 sites and 2,000 miles of trail in four different regions of the state.

The park has two gazebos for birds. The Rookery is a place for birds to feed and congregate. It has a red tile roof supported by wide beams. The floor of the rookery is red granite stones.

The second gazebo, called the Eyrie after the home of a bird of prey. The stone and beam style is also used here. The roof and walls form a secret alcove.

Kathryn Albertson, a native of Boise met her husband Joe at the College of Idaho. They were married on New years day in 1930. Joe went on to found the Albertsons chain of grocery stores. Kathryn Albertson Park was given to the people of Idaho on October 17, 1989.
