Lunds Allhelgonakyrkan (All Saints Church), Malmo

Lunds Allhelgonakyrkan (All Saints Church), Malmo

All Saints Church stands proudly just a few hundred meters north of Lund Cathedral, a testament to the Gothic Revival style and the artistic brilliance of the renowned Swedish architect Helgo Zettervall. The church, opened in 1891, is considered one of Zettervall's best-preserved works, with minimal replacements over the years, allowing visitors to experience the architectural grandeur envisioned by the architect.

The church's interior showcases Zettervall's vision, with an altar crafted from uncut cement, a baptismal font made of polished cement featuring a copper bowl by Sven Bengtsson, and a wooden altarpiece essay by Carl Johan Dyfverman depicting a crucifix. The decorative painting within the church is the work of Svante Thulin (1837-1918), adding a layer of artistic richness to the sacred space.

Standing at an impressive height of 72 meters, the neo-Gothic tower of All Saints Church is the second tallest structure in Lund, surpassed only by Ideon Gateway. The tower, a beacon of the city, offers panoramic views across the plains, making it a notable landmark. In 1966, three bells from the M & O Ohlsson bell foundry in Ystad were inaugurated, enhancing the church's auditory presence.
