Lutheran Church of St. Catherine, Kazan

Construction began in 1767, a notable year for the German Lutheran community due to the visit of Empress Catherine II. The Lutheran Church of Saint Catherine was opened in 1771 and between 1862 and 1865 a Neo-Gothic brick church was erected. Substantially renovated in 1903, it served a variety of purposes throughout the years of civil war and revolution.
