Madurai Amen Temple, Port Louis

The Madurai Mariamen Temple Society is one of the most visually distinctive religious sites in Port Louis, reflecting the island’s strong Tamil Hindu heritage. Dedicated to the worship of Mariamen, a revered South Indian deity, the temple serves a community of more than 100,000 practitioners across Mauritius, where Tamil Hindu traditions remain an active part of everyday cultural life.
