Museu de Arte Moderna, located in a 16th century building on the shores of the Bay of Todos os Santos, was established in the early 1960s. One of twelve state museums, it is part of the Institute of Artistic and Cultural Heritage and has the country’s best exhibits of modern art. It contains eight exhibition halls, a theater, a library and a workshop that offers courses in painting, modeling, engraving, ceramics, drawing and sculpture.
