Meewasin Valley, Saskatoon

The 60-kilometer Meewasin Valley Trail stretches along both sides of the South Saskatchewan River, offering a picturesque route under bridges, through city parks, and past major tourist attractions and historic sites.

This paved trail is a favorite among walkers and bikers throughout the year, as well as dog owners enjoying leisurely strolls with their leashed pets. Begin your journey at River Landing, a riverfront promenade and green space near downtown's top attractions, and enjoy a relaxing walk to Friendship Park and Kiwanis Memorial Park. The landing area features benches, shaded picnic tables, lawns, and a water spray park for children.

Approximately 20 kilometers of the Meewasin Trail is part of The Great Trail, the world's largest network of trails. In the summer, the trail offers activities such as canoe rentals, picnicking, fishing, and birdwatching.

In the winter, visitors can enjoy cross-country skiing and skating at the Cameco Meewasin Skating Rink in Kiwanis Memorial Park, with free skate rentals available.
