MOTR Pub, Cincinnati

MOTR Pub, Cincinnati

Since opening its doors in 2010, MOTR Pub has become a cornerstone of Cincinnati’s independent music scene. Nestled in the heart of the historic Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, MOTR blends the feel of a classic neighborhood hangout with the energy of a world-class venue. Its intimate barroom stage has hosted thousands of live performances from both local legends and international trailblazers-names like Angel Olsen, King Tuff, Mike Watt, Alabama Shakes, and Hannibal Buress have all graced its stage. And yes, there’s never a cover charge.

But music is just the start. MOTR is also home to recurring comedy nights led by Karl Spaeth, Andy Gasper, and Mark Chalifoux-known collectively as the minds behind MOTR Mouth! With events seven nights a week, MOTR keeps the lights on and the stage alive.

The pub’s reputation is built not only on its calendar but on its commitment to the community. Open seven days a week, MOTR serves late-night eats until 1 a.m., including the legendary MOTR Burger, and boasts one of the best brunches on Main Street every weekend from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At the bar, you'll find 10 beers on tap, a solid list of cans and bottles, and over 50 American whiskeys-because why settle for anything less?

The venue itself is two levels of laid-back vibes. The main floor houses the bar, dining room, and stage, with a patio out back-a favorite Over-the-Rhine open-air escape. Downstairs, things get a little more arcade-y, with pinball machines, vintage video games, and TVs. For those looking to host a private event, the Sword Room is available to rent (for free!).
