Mtatsminda Park, Tbilisi

Mtatsminda Park, Tbilisi

Soaring at 770 meters, Mtatsminda Park stands as Tbilisi’s highest vantage point, perched atop Mount Mtatsminda. This historic amusement destination dates back more than a century and was once the third most visited public park in the USSR. Accessed via the Tbilisi Funicular-in operation since 1905-the park doubles as both a scenic getaway and a playful center.

Inside the park, attractions are grouped into three playful zones-Kids, Family, and Extreme-featuring around 60 rides, including carousels, bumper cars, bumper-train-style mini-coasters, water slides, and a haunting ”Ghost Castle” dark ride imported from Italy. The park’s icon, a towering 65-meter Ferris wheel, is particularly magical-spinning slowly for 10 to 12 minutes, it grants majestic views of the sprawling city below.

Wanderers will also appreciate the park’s greenery and shaded gardens-an ideal retreat on warm days. Quaint cafés and picnic areas provide relaxing spots to sip a coffee or savor local snacks, all while gazing over Tbilisi’s rooftops and hilltops.
