Nossa Senora da Orada Church, Albufeira

Hermits inhabited the Nossa Senora da Orada Church in the 15th century. The church was rebuilt in the 18th century principally to serve as a place of worship for local fishermen. A statue of the patron saint of Nossa Sra da Orada was moved to the Parish Church of Albufeira years ago, but it is brought back to Nossa Sra da Orada every year on August 15th for a special religious ceremony.
